Aside from using dreams (I personally don't count dreams as flashbacks, I think we all dream about memories sometimes lol), I would just do what I do in real life and casually allude to my past in certain situations. Like at my current job, when things get crazy, I'll be like 'aw man, I would have totally lost my marbles over this rush when I was in high school' and stuff like that. Then if someone, or another character, asks what I mean, I would then explain that I was an absolute bloody wreck as a teenager lol.
