I think Knuckles would mess with Kirishima heavy and that he'd be an honorary Echidna Warrior

Knuckles would definitely sense Kirishima's resolve and see a bit of himself within him, both would be friends but Knuckles would see himself more of a mentor figure despite the height difference

They'd hang out at Angel Island because Knuckles almost never leaves the Master Emerald unattended, not without good reason at least, that's where most of their activities + training would take place

Kirishima could maybe help Knuckles re-consider that looking away from the Master Emerald for a second isn't going to make it disappear and to let go more

Knuckles always thinking himself as the solemn protector of the Master Emerald yet forgetting that he's more than that
