I'm glad that you're getting good at tracing, because references are important, but try using a reference picture and tracing that, then adding some other stuff to make it look like an OC, I have a couple of references I got off Pinterest that I use that you can use
And you can always tweak it so it's not in this art style, you normally want to do that so it's not as copied, I normally make mine in the anime style.
No clue how to really “do styles”
Well, I really basic way would be to use the reference and add more pronounced joints, I'll add a pic with what I mean in a second, you can also change the positioning of the head or to different hand positions
I traced it now what
Kk, so now what u can do is you can put the heads in different positions and make them look a different way, you can also make the circles where the joints are like I mentioned, to give it more depth, kind of like in the picture below
Can i just put hair and clothes on this and call it a OC?
U could, but it wouldn't really be ur art style, and yes the point of a reference is to have a similar position to the reference, but if you don't tweak it a little bit it'll look like the same thing but just if the person that made the reference were to color it a little bit and add accessories
Also here's the other half
Do you see how I change the position of the leg and made the stomach a little bit more like a stomach, I also change the position of the finger to match the other finger gun and I pushed the head down making it look like it's laying on the floor
Im pretty much a beginner so idrk how to do all that stuff
I guess too late? Maybe nit idk
I figured ur a newbie :3 and tracing is pretty good when you are, it gives you a better perspective of certain ideas and how things are positioned
And it looks pretty good!
But I would recommend instead of doing solid lines, do the stroke technique where you do multiple different lines at a time
It can make it a look a little bit less shaky and more smooth. Are you on a PC tablet or phone or a drawing tablet of some sort?
Lookin' good 👍 I have a drawing tablet for more detailed sketches, but right now I'm just using a normal tablet to do drawings like these.
I gave up on it for more room to trace other stuff btw
Ah, okie, welp, I'm sure you'll get much better with time!!! Can I show u My OC that I decided to use from the reference
Sure if you want
Oh yeah thats rhe same pose
