I'd probably connect it to something I'd established as like symbolic somewhere in the middle of the book (like made the reader feel connected to something) and bring it back at the final line to really bring tears and agony, so something like
"Why must a passerine fly if it's wings weren't meant to catch the wind?"
With the passerine being the symbolic thing
(But like the buildup would make it better yk)

But if not that, then
"It was never mine, but the creator's choice."
(Again, buildup to the line is important, so it'd hit harder if I actually wrote a book)

Depends on how it ends. If the main character somehow ends up in the real world, then probably a line about making their own path and starting anew while keeping the lessons and perspective they learned from before. But if it ends with the main character in the fake world, then probably a line about how nothing ever needed to be considered "real" to other people and even the universe, it only needed to be important to that main character because they're the one who makes it real, who makes it matter.
