I'd prefer to play a game with an amazing story rather than amazing gameplay. Namely because I'm usually very story orientated when I play. Like when I play Sims, I'm usually just doing it for a story standpoint instead of the gameplay itself (like i'm currently doing, trying to make poses for an MHA OC's family which has 2 sets of twins, 2 pets and 2 parents, possibly a grandmother to be added at some point maybe not too sure).

Amazing storyline. Even if the gameplays meh it’ll still be amazing. I prefer story anyways. You could have the greatest gameplay but come on. Without the story ima play be extremely happy with gameplay but not invested. One and done.
