These are amazing! Are they too heavy though and do they tilt off if you move your head just right? Because if not I feel like miruko’s bunny ears could work great with this idea, so long as those don’t become too heavy

The wire I used is malleable enough that if you squeeze it it'll tighten around your ears and prevents the cuffs from flopping around too much

It's secure enough I can shake my head from side to side without a whole lot of movement

To make it more secure though if you took wire and put it up inside the ears and then connected it to the ears, and if you ran one across the back of your head to create a cage-ish type design it would give it more stability and could be hidden behind hair/a wig

I could throw together a prototype if you need a visual!

Also if you made the ears out of paper or foam and not cardboard I'm sure they would be much lighter!! Using foam would be the best idea since then you can bend the ears to change positions without having to create an entirely new set for each different position

You are really good at it, you practically immediately had ways to make what I said work. It surprised me honestly with how quickly you came up with the band around the back of the head concept!

I'm in a costuming/prop class for my theater at school so we have to build all kinds of stuff to make costumes work 😭
Last year we did beauty and the beast and I designed (and mostly made/sewed) all of the wolf costumes and the headpiece for those had a very similar design

The plastic we used is a special kind that becomes flexible when you heat it up so you can mold it but it's still fairly heavy so building the wolf mask, then adding electrical components the glowing eyes made it pretty heavy and since the wolves dance those things had to be hella secure

But if you add a wire across the top of the head (like a headband) and then one around the back (where your neck and your head meet), added with the ear cuff design from this it would be pretty hard to shake off

If you REALLY wanted to do some movement you could tie a ribbon underneath your chin from the ear cuffs to secure it that way every direction has something with opposing force from the other direction, so it should stay in place
