Because of the tv shows I watched as a kid, I grew up thinking that, once you got a girlfriend/boyfriend, you would feel different, older or more mature, get some sort of reality shattering epiphany, or feel like I had butterflies in my stomach every time I would look at my partner, stuff like that.
I've been in my current relationship for almost 10 months, and it's the first real and first true relationship I've ever been in, and let me tell you, I don't feel any different, like at all. That was such a weird feeling and realization to come to for me, and actually figuring out that it's totally normal not to feel like you're on cloud nine all the time. Sure, I love spending time with my partner, and sure I have the occasional moment where I see them doing something cute (for example, I watched them get weirdly fascinated by the handles on my drawers the other day) and get filled with this unexplainable amount of joy, but I don't feel Ike that all the time and that's normal

I realized very quickly back in high school that popularity literally does not matter. The idea of a social hierarchy is absolutely stupid. The second you graduate you are thrown back into the swimming pool with everyone being at the same level. No one cares if you were the popular kid, a jock, a scholar, an emo, the quiet kid- whatever. None of that matters in adulthood so you shouldn't worry about where you stand in something that's only temporary and will not make your adult life any different socially.
