Paradoxes are popular in time travel stories, which is where a lotta people learn the term from. The most well known paradox (at least to my knowledge) is the Grandfather paradox, where you go back in time and kill your grandfather. By killing your grandfather you stop yourself from being born, which means you cannot exist to go back and kill him, meaning he lives. But if he lives then you are born, meaning you can go back and kill him. Etcetera ecetera
