*i'm so late responding to all this, but on the subject of female character writing, at least Horikoshi isn't as aggressively awful with it as Kishimoto. Like Horikoshi actually gives the girls all distinct and rather deep personalities. Even if he just won't use them for things(which in a way feels a bit more insulting tbh), but Kishimoto's girls are all boiled down to which boy they like, and where they are on the shy to mean scale.

Well tbf that was like her thing back in season 4 that she needed to shut out the feelings she has for Deku, and shes focusing on this whole heroing for other heroes thing (even if Horikoshis not gonna have her actually put that energy to someone else). It feels weak because 2 seasons later and we still haven't learned Deku's perspective on why he hasn't made a move on her, which makes it feel one sided when it's not.
And the whole perspective she has is tragically incorrect. Like she thinks that having feelings will hold them both back, when truly its the exact opposite. Love is such a huge inspiration and motivator, which is Toga's whole thesis, but she barely made a compelling argument about it to Ochako that their fight changed nothing but made Toga mildly more upset because Ochako wasnt even trying to extrapolate Toga's meanings

The Stain arc is really where that started to drift, like having Todoroki there instead of Ochako felt like just the wrong decision, Ochako would've provided such an interesting conflict for Stain's idealogy since she's in it for the money but she's like the most noble one there.

Honestly I'd say this season overall gets an 8.6/10
I think the quirk development was incredibly rushed but at the same time, without it, we wouldn't have this vigilante version of Deku who loses his composure
I would rather the season finish with quirk development than the key battles with Lady Nagant and the rest.
I am guessing we will get more insights into the vestiges next season because what MHA always does really well is character development and I guess with how much things escalated there wasn't time for that
The last battle scene could be better but its okay for what it is, I'd say this is one of the best seasons
