in a completely objective sense, most fandesigns were male/genderbent ayaka. even though barbara/jean are sisters, they work different professions and have different roles, so their outfits have different themes and compositions to them—the whole "they're siblings" argument never worked in the first place (and with ayato's design out, the kamisato siblings look less like siblings than jean/barbara if you ask me)

if mihoyo tried to profit off a genderbent ayaka it wouldn't be well-received, both from a consumer and company standpoint if that makes sense
