you can pick your modifiers, just dont enable the ones that you can't beat (for example the timer on the boss if you cant beat the boss on time)

also maybe read, yknow Hollow Zero also literally builds your characters for you (and even has trial characters for characters you don't own) just like HSR's DU so its really just about your Hollow Zero build

you need to pick correct buffs, take the best route to have max power before the boss

and the other mode (Shiyu) literally gives so much time that its almost impossible to not get S rank
