Comparing fontaine to natlan too doesnā€™t make sense because:

  • fontaine focused on archons and dragon sovereigns, plus the primordial ocean, celestia
  • natlan focused on primarily abyss lore, fake sky, more celestia, not focused on archons only

them not focusing on archons and shifting to actual problems like abyss just gives us more plot for the endgame, fontaine didnā€™t contribute that much to endgame lore but natlan did by expanding on stuff. Also unrelated but 70% of 4.x patches were just fillerā€¦ meanwhile 5.x all gave us insane lore and banger archon quests

I think the main reasons people hating on natlan is the friendship stuff which we all agree on LMAO but it still remains relevant to the whole game

There is also reasons why that Interlude was made
That quest did still provide major story updates, it wasn't empty
Gacha game stories are still made to release with a new character release in mind and have them show off in the new main story more. So Mavuika releasing in 5.3 with Natlan's final quest where you can play as her and plays a way major role throught the entire quest and the whole main focus.
