Firefly's character is being reduced to "fanservice" because thats how the community and marketing of her makes her to be.

Her character was just messed up due messy writing during Penacony story but they never reduced her to what people make it to be. I think there is a lot of overreaction.

Long story short, the real Pardofelis died on a basically a suicide mission on the fight against PE's Herrscher of Finality, keeping the backdoor open to Cocoon of Finality so can Prometheus can become the Will of Honkai of the current era. She died and disappeared while keeping the backdoor open because of the Honkai energy radiating her because she was too close keeping the backdoor open. In Elysium Everlasting (aka the simulation of the Flamechasers Mei went into), she "died" while investigating with Mei by Vill-V basically deleting her using Kevin Killer but that's a longer story.

ER functions very differently since it's a simulation and the real Flamechasers already died a long time ago in the previous era.

So it's not really the same as Amphoreus but the idea is there since Chrysos Eirs are basically Flamechasers.

But again we also don't know the real nature of Amphoreus yet. Even if it's not a simulation like ER, I feel like there might be something similar going on maybe with Remembrance.

We are still basically reusing a story afterall, this whole storyline and Chrysos Eirs is basically some kind of variant itself as a parallel to Flamechasers and To The Flawless Arc (Elysian Realm)

Variants in Honkaiverse still go down similar fates, origins etc afterall even if they aren't the exact same or in completely diffirent paths due differences in their story.

Example being Acheron, facing Finality and a Kevin variant but losing everything in the end, going in Nihility's path instead. Similar origin to HI3 Earth and Mei but completely diffirent ending and path. What Welt and Acheron talked about during Penacony.

So like this PV showing Cipher disappear, fade away like Pardofelis did.

Her fate might be similar to Pardofelis sacrificing herself. She feels like a huge variant as much as Phainon and Cyrene are compared to others with how they are teasing her character, fate/death and her design alone.
