I don’t think I ever did a portfolio review day thing but my course did require for my final year to make a website to put our chosen work in,+ making prototypes of potential merch using any art we had made or art we would make later on

I did ask my tutor at the time if fanart was ok to add and she said it was fine to use, even shared a few website examples of her friends that put fanart into their portfolios

I think so long as the fanart is original in idea and shows your own artistic abilities, I don’t see why they can’t be used
