Nevertheless, I understand the message this short was portraying, with how both Lumine and Aether envy everything who has someone to be with them along their journey, but no matter how far they are, they're both walking in one another's footsteps. Also in terms of their present times, they come to learn they aren't alone after all because of their separate journeys together with Paimon and Dainsleif

One of Genshin's flaws is that they made the both MC genders an actual character and not a gender choice. While yes, they could use them both equally in their promotions as Aether as Traveler or Lumine, it seems that they decided to stuck with Aether as the Traveler with Lumine being the Abyss Queen. The lore also has some inconsistency if you play as Lumine and Aether is the Abyss sibling. They clearly always visioned Aether as Traveler and was most likely forced to have Lumine has an option too as a gender option.

Also with Lumine's design. Her wearing Inteyvat just makes it more inconsistent for her to be the Traveler.
