I mean, considering the entire series is built upon different timelines of the same characters, it makes sense to include the base characers that even made the games popular
The main focus for most of the games has been the story of Kiana, who appears in every game so far except potentially genshin and hsr (it's not confirmed for genshin if she is or isnt there and hsr we havent seen her yet)
