At the point in the story where Kiana fights with Mei what happened: Kiana by awakening HoV made the 3rd eruption which killed milions, then went missing. She can't fully control her powers, there is always a chance of her being taken over by HoV and killing even more people. Mei didn't saw and talked with Kiana since 3rd Eruption, they don't know if Kiana can control it or is even in control herself, they fight. Mei: I will turn a blind eye to all of the dangerous things that can happen and leave u alone cause love. Meanwhile I will go fight a herrescher that shows symptoms of being able to become a herrescher fighting for humanity, ignores it, and try's to kill it. Mei last chapter: it's ok to not kill a ticking time bomb cause of love. Mei this chapter: She can talk? and tries to ressist the honkai? kill her.

I guess the budget back then wasn't as big as right now. The game didn't have the same quality for main story as we have rn with the in-game rendered cutscenes and storytelling.

we could have atleast gotten a cutscene for them because that arc didn't have an animated short. But again at the time they weren't capable of doing these ingame rendered cutscenes which makes that arc incredibly unmemorable because there was nothing.

without spoiling, Fontaine actually fixes most of the problems I found with Genshin's writing for their charaters. Sumeru fixed the problem with overall writing and archon quests length by making it more than 3 quests.

Genshin not having a main cast of characters except Traveler and Paimon also makes it hard because there aren't really many characters we can watch them grow throught the entire story.
