endgame content is probably very low on their list of priorities because there’s much more pressing matters.

I’d imagine their biggest issue currently is how will the game even work on phones in the future.

As their map design get more ambitious, the more struggles to work on mobiles. They said they had massive problems with mobile benchmarking in Inazuma and Sumeru was probably even worse.

They have a lot on their plate with this game, an absolutely insane amount tbh. Not only do they need to optimize it for when the storage requirements eventually get bigger, they're still working on the Switch port, plus they have the six-week dev cycle to turn over new content, all while designing new characters to sell and regions to add.

I think majority of the player base is casual players which is why I think hoyoverse isn't stressing out to put harder content when majority if the player base wont be able to do it anyways. That's why, we're getting TCG which allows all parties(casual and hardcore players) to enjoy something.

Despite the fact that they said no abyss-like content I'm pretty sure mihoyo does want to add something extra as they didn't say no to more game modes. Tcg was easy enough but I'm certain they are weighing on how to bring more content that won't overwhelm casual players and take advantage of the combat and game mechanics in general. When that would be I don't know.

Since mihoyo plans long always, it will probably take some time. It won't be timed abyss or anything of the sort but I hope it could be something like the labyrinth event.
