it appears in a cycle timed with other events of this kind

virtual battleground gives you cards rewards, boss raid gives gear upgrade rewards, mock contest gives character shards and cash in rewards

each of these have additional rewards based on your ranking - the higher the place, the better rewards you'll get at the end of the event

as for example this is for virtual

this is for boss raid

for mock contest you also are put into different "tiers", let's call it that. based on your agency level you get in different tiers which have enemies with BP corresponding to the level. So... while all enemies of tier level 30 might be under 40k BP the enemies for 50+ lvl agency can get under 70k BP if i remember correctly.

but! the amount of rewards also gets higher with the higest tiers! as for example, in tier 1 if you'd place in the first ten in rankings you'd get 20 or 10 Self-Pick S character shard boxes, and on tier 3 you'd get 40 if i recall correctly. Feel the difference?
