sr event momo or sr event kirishima come to mind that are rly helpful for ve towers. not only through added dmg, but also the easy to access dx unique skills.

lets say there is a burning tower and this yukata kirishima is good for it. get this dx skill and hje becomes a must-have:
"● Lowers chance of character getting burned and gives character Defense DOWN immunity for 2 turns. /Reduces burning damage to character by 20%."

and thats only one example. let's look at momos unique dx skill thats fantastic for ve towers:

"● Increases critical hit rate of all ally U.A. High Class 1-A characters by 10%.

with crit rate being rly important, this again is a must-have.

so bringing them back is actually very important

I used camie in a special tower challenge where she dealt much less damage than UR ones and it was visible. Very visible and very annoying since she only had her damage on ultimate and nothing else thanks to the tower's challenge. It felt horrible despite her being a great team PU buffer.

In my experience, they die first. Do less damage despite upgrades. There is a lot of them and I can spread my resources on them while first needing to establish a damn ton of powerful URs with good upgrades. It's an issue that I have to work with if I want to do a VE tower. When there's nothing so directly linking to the ideal of that VE tower, there's just no way out the struggle. URs are just stronger. Some, like fest midoriya, can help even out of their type field. And if they are direct upgrades of some SRs, upon being upgraded they replace these SRs completely. Even some URs are close to being direct upgrades of other URs.
