current f-1 misses the wow factor. As corny as it sounds, people went to the races back then not just for the racing but for the sound too. It was part of the show. Most telling when Alonso got back in his Renault R25 in Abu Dhabi ( last of the breed with the v10). People miss the v8 and v10 sound, and even Vettel and Hamilton commented that a more modern version of these engines should return
not to say that people dont go to today's races, they obviously do, but the f1 audience has been continuously decreasing over the past years (sound and the cars themselves being a part of the reason)

Where they majorly differ is in how this story is told, Squid Game mostly having an ensemble cast with a lot of relationship interactions between each game, whereas Kaiji is more of a show with mind games and manipulation between opponents during the games themselves.

Rock Paper Scissors is pretty dang childish, and Kaiji is routed in Japanese culture (through games like Mah Jong, Chinchiro, and Pachinko) just like Squid Game is with Korean culture. Squid Game even directly steals the Steel Beam arc from Kaiji, somethin' that has nothin' ta do with the Korean culture their other games have.
