It's been recently confirmed by Maruyama (the founder of studio M2) that's it's still on work and there's words from people who worked on the adaption that few more episodes left to be finished.
The reason I'm excited for the adaption is because Maruyama himself picked up Pluto manga to adapt it with his new established studio due to his love towards the source material and Urasawa works in general he also worked on Monster anime. So we're going to see a a lot of passion and love behind production which what I'm looking for when it's comes to anime.

I think it's probably gotta do with the fact that Komi San is the easy to enjoy, quick to read type of anime whilst the anime is much slower in pace

I personally really enjoyed it, I have read some of the manga and have watched all there is of the anime currently and while the manga is funnier I enjoy both and my mom enjoys the anime too
