Underground Masquarade takes place in a 7 year flashback, meaning 4 years before the start of Vigs.

My guess at an actual timeline would be something like

Eh, I figure Tamao's quirk just isn't something that can be used to attack or help in battles.

I've theorized that given the nature of Overclock being electrical currents in the brain, hers is likely small electrical currents that amount to nothing. But it likely unknowingly helped her both live against the life threatening stun gun, and is the reason why the bee drone injection of a temporary second quirk of electric eel was used once and never brought up again, as compatibility matters.

like don't get me wrong I love our crab girl but Joke was mentioned in the main series to have worked alongside him on the occasion, so that role in Vigilates would've worked well with her

Probably for narrative reasons. Even if lore wise Joke would have fit, the reader would already be familiar with her. Kaniko is presented as an idol and the reveal that she is a cop is a bit of a twist. If joke had been the undercover idol, the reader would already know something was up. And kaniko was already involved in Onomura Corp/Villain Factory related investigation with Crab Route, so logically it makes sense she went undercover with Aizawa haha

I agree that in-universe Ms Joke would have made sense but instead we can just pretend her and Kaniko are friends !!

Just finished it.

That was a wild ride. Koichi is definitely one of the best heroes ever. But knuckleduster manages to be even better. Somehow any time he's on screen I get so happy.

I had some questions.

• They left koichi and pops relationship rather open ended, at least it seemed that way to me. Is there just no closure?
• Do we have any idea what knuckleduster was doing for the years after his face off with 6 that gave him extra scars and a permanently damaged leg? How the hell did he survive the 6 1v1?
• 6 is easily in my top 3 for mha villains. But did he and Koichi truly meet as kids, or was it pure symbolism?
• I need to purchase any and all knuckleduster merch. Anyone have any links or recommendations? Only if that sort of thing is allowed here ofcourse
• I'm really going to miss this series. I'm too attached. But atleast i get to re live it when the anime finally airs. Which I assume will be early next year
• If there's any Ultra Rumble fans here, do we think the vigilantes will ever be added? There's the whole licensing issue that people point towards, claiming it will never happen

• the vestiges that appeared to Koichi were really pop and KD (going off of Shirakumo talking to Aizawa, that KD could interact with AFO, and pop could sing to 6) so her saying she loved him was technically her. It isn’t the greatest closure but hey it’s something
• I like to think he got those scars from fighting 6. There was more to the fight we didn’t see. After he rejects 6, 6 starts using language that separates KD from O’clock. Beforehand he was talking about them as the same person. I think it’s fair to say 6 may have clawed through KD’s scar to separate him from the o’clock in his head- but that’s my interpretation
• that was pure symbolism. The borders of the manga weren’t black, which happens when there’s a flashback
• get the figures! He has a posable action figure and a crane game one. Also if you’re in the US you could gamble for his figural bag clip at box lunch or hot topic

• Oh that is definitely a spicy way to view his new scars. I like that idea a lot. I intend to model this design for a Ultra Rumble mod, but its hard to tell exactly where his new scars are judging from the panels due to the lighting, angling, and the mask covering most if it
• Got it. That scene is easily my favorite part of the final act. It really spoke to me. MHA has a habit of symbolism as children like this, and I feel this was easily the best. Deku/Tenko and Ochaco/Toga just dont compare haha.
• I will start buying them next month then. I will be broke after my car insurance, lol, so I'll need to wait a bit. Though, I am unsure of which sites to use, but I can figure that out later
• I'd love to predict when they'll reveal it, but I just cant. I dont know Bones Film well enough. But Season 2 didnt take too long to release
  • Season 1, and Season 2 released only 8 months and 29 days (273 days in total) apart from each other. If this trend continues, Season 3 will release around October.
    • Big issue is that Season 3 will be way harder to animate than S2, so we could be waiting much longer, especially if they decide S3 is 24 episodes to cover the entire ending. I have no idea if they will break it into two season or not.

I just noticed something evil. I already pointed out that the song playing over 6’s rejection scene is titled ‘GARBAGE LIKE YOU…’ which is a line from chapter 84.
In a similar vein, Pop’s second song from the anime is titled ‘LOOKING FOR YOU.’ Chapter 72, the chapter where she goes missing and is revealed to have been turned into Bee Pop, is titled ‘searching for you’ in English. I don’t know Japanese, but the title in the JP release is 君を探して. When I pop that into Google Translate it spits out ‘looking for you.’ I think this song is named for chapter 72, and the searching-looking difference is just a different way of translating it

Between this, GARBAGE LIKE YOU… , the added frame of koichi helping pop down the stairs that is identical to when Rock did the same, and pop’s left eye being obscured in the final piece of promo art. They are really foreshadowing final performance
