f2p Destiny 2 is like imagine a free trial for a MMORPG game with subscription but no time limit on how much you can play (FFXIV). You just still need to buy expansions in order to play majority of the content.
f2p experience is still bad even though they are adding content. Its not new player friendly if you aren't caught up with the lore or expansions.
Especially after they vaulted Red War as the f2p campaign.
Like the game going f2p didn't change anything on how they make expansions or content.
for returning players to Destiny 2, if you get the Witch Queen expansion too its rn the best time to start. For new players getting Witch Queen expansion too. Since we had a light level reset, everyone is at the same level.

I mean the only important old content there is in Destiny 2 now is Beyond Light content which is to unlock new element Stasis. There is nothing left from old content since they vault them. Majority of old content that was important got made f2p aswell. Even exotic weapons.

also I finished the new campaign. Truly lived up to their promise with definitive campaign. Felt like a full campaign experience unlike previous expansions. Long missions, hard enemies, puzzles and pretty much really well story telling. They nailed what they wanted to do.
