it's a bit more complicated than that tbh, since you need to do one of elizabeth's requests, request 29 iirc and you have to max out the death arcana before you can attempt to fuse him

yea once you max death out and you do request 29, you need 5 personas of the death arcana, namely Loa, Pale Rider, Samuel, Mot and Alice

depends, I didn't use thanatos when I finished p3, I don't remember who I had but as long as you feel you're prepared to ||fight strega and nyx|| you should be good, the last battle is a bit of a bullet sponge too so it can be a bit tedious so it wouldn't hurt to train a bit beforehand
