yes dmc5 is pretty good, I recommend playing the previous ones since you might get confused if you're into the story line, you can search up the chronological order of the games but the first dmc game you should play is Dmc3 since it's basically the first chronological game in the timeline, it's basically a prequel to the series

XC2 does give you the basic story “blades” to get you through.
But the problem with XC2 is that your other blades that synergies with your team is kinda locked behind a gacha system. Which is big oofers. Like you don’t pay real money to roll, you can farm the currency and eventually (and realistically) get everything unlike a lotta standard gacha. But again, results may vary.

Basically what happens is that you set up elemental orbs on opponents, and you can chain attack to break those orbs to continue attacking/combo-ing them for big damage. So it’s different from XC1 a bit, but it is kinda fun (at least that’s what I remember from playing it). Though because of how blades work you do get some variety cause they all have different weapons/moves and you can switch between 4 of them.
