That's the way WoW used to be for all classes, but they have since removed that system in favor of a streamlined system. (Which, I absolutely hate how it is now.) No real creativity anymore.

Still, some classes were DPS only, but you could learn spells from a different tree to gain a mixed-bag of abilities.

in ESO the factors are all what class, what skills, what weapon, what race and what armor.

i'd say ESO is a bit more simple in regard that your skill bar is only 5 and 5 more on a second back bar and ult and there's only 5 regular skills in a tree.

FFXIV is fixed for each class. As you lvl up, you get spells and abilities for that class. That's it.

WoW is picking 6 different abilities, each from a teir of 3.

Though, that's not including any other expantion BS that's taking place. Each expantion comes out with a new system for "lvling up" once ya hit max lvl.

in terms of abilities you don't have all of those right away you'd start with the first active and as you use it and level up you progress in the skill ranks up and you unlock more of the skills and passives.

ESO level cap is 50 but the cp, champion point cap is at 810.

WoW don't start with all of them either unless you pick a Hero Class, which is already lvled up some of the way.

I'm at 880 cp but you don't get champion points past 810 cause it's the current cap and they said as of now the cap isn't being raised.

Idk what the current system is, I think it's lvling up a completely seperate talent tree. Very very weird, yes.

Have not reached max lvl in FFIXV yet.

the way cp works is after a character gets to level 50 they can start to earn champion points and you cp level is account wide.

cp points are put into the cp trees to enhance things like healing done, resource recovery, defense, increasing damage done in certain ways and things like that.

FFXIV focuses more on RP and Story content. It seems less PvE oriented. Still has dungeons and raids, yea. It focuses more on having fun in the world, exploring, and immersing into the world.

zones in ESO have storylines and quests and the like can follow those if you're so inclined.

WoW's questing isn't immersive at all. All that pops up is a box of text you can read.

FFXIV makes the HUD vanish in favor of speech bubbles you click to "flip". Sometimes there's Voice Acting for the more critical to the story quests.

all npcs in ESO are voiced which is nice and quests can be quite fun.

I've heard there's more voiced characters the further into the story you go. It's rare to have a choice in what your character says in FFXIV, but in WoW there's NO choice at all 99.9% of the time.

something neat i noticed in ESO is some Reoccurring NPCs will recognize you if you did prior quests for them and their dialogue changes.

What's funny to do in WoW, is most characters are voice to to greetings and goodbyes when you target / untarget them. If you keep clinking them, they'll get annoyed.

I think on PS4 it will always display your name on your side, but other players only see the screen name. So you’ll probably only ever see your screen name in-game/from other player’s perspectives

You could, just change the real name to something else in Profile settings though.
