I feel people ignorant of AI don't understand that the base models for image gen AI can't exist without learning/training from stolen artworks to begin with. Even if you feed the model your own art work, the model itself had to be built with training data that was stolen/used without permission (because it needs a lot of data for the model to even exist first).
(see a lot of image* gen AI uses LAION-5B as it's training set and that database just uses anything it can get off the Internet regardless of copyright)
