Basically you assign a GF to each character, which allows certain stats to be altered. You then assign a Magic to that stat to boost it. The more stock you have of that Magic, the higher the boost.

Ah. IIRC, 8 does scale bosses to your level, but not your stat increases. So long as you keep your junction system broken, you're fine.
