I think they basically just became legacy games for Atlus at this point and P3-5 are their main trilogy for the series

I think you're worrying too much, Nintendo most prob hire Avi Arad as their co-producer for business purposes, not for story/creativity(nintendo will handle this one), they said they chose him cuz he's produced mega hit films.
