I'm playing Vanguard. I deadass shouldn't be doing more damage than our DPS

and I agree, tho I also believe in that stats don’t matter except for death count, as a healing could have 13K heals but only have healed the healer. or someone did 11 damage but none of it KO’d anyone. but you make a valid point on that a Vanguard shouldn’t be doing a DPS’s job. All you can really do about random teammates is try and compliment their play style or attempt communication

for example, as a DPS, during a domination match I got bodied as Star-Lord due to an enemy Bucky. I thought on the first round and noticed while I was getting KO’s, my Vanguards were struggling to make any space and healers dying

and I had a Bucky on me KO’ing me left and right. So next round, I avoided Bucky up close, helped my Vanguards get KO’s, and protected my healers

won the next 2 rounds easy after.

I get that, but MMOs are usually thought of as the co-op designed missions: hence the “famous for” wording and the whole MMO part of MMO.

I am well aware that stuff like FFXIV has a sp open world, or that GW2 breaks from the triad system of classes thus breaking the co-dependency, etc. But when you generally think of MMOs you think of raids or dungeons where if tank pulls too much, dps doesn’t break the dps check, healer misclicks leading to tank death, someone messes up on a puzzle mechanic, etc - that will lead to a team death.

Not saying it as someone just unaware since I’ve played FFXIV, SWTOR, GW2, PSO2, etc. It’s just not what you’d think of when in MMO raids it’s sometimes someone else’s fault you died (hence why I don’t raid either).

Especially when a DPS stands in DoT and makes it so you can’t clear the DPS check with his dead body.
