I need to get on playing that game. I bought it because it's well reviewed and it works on Mac, though I've been having a lot of fun getting Windows-exclusive PC games running on my Mac. This tiny computer (M2 Pro Mac mini) is actually pretty damn capable.

Disco Elysium is an isometric (top down, turned at a 45º angle, similar to games like Fallout 1 & 2, StarCraft, and others) RPG where you play an investigator trying to solve a crime. The RPG's stats are all built around mentalist abilities rather than the traditional D&D-based (e.g. Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, et al) and you need to use various psychological tricks to extract information from unwilling witnesses and other characters. I think there is some combat, but it's light, and I think the game is meant to be failed (or rather, if you do fail, the game doesn't end and there is a planned outcome for this), so it may have roguelite or even roguelike qualities. It also has, as you might guess, incredible writing. It's a bit intimidating actually.
