Someone still looking for short, impactful games? Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. If you're on PC, it goes on sale for ~$2 USD like all the time. Takes about 3-4 hours, meant to be done all in one go. It looks like a couch co-op game but it's designed to be played by one person. On a controller, the left stick moves one brother and the right stick moves the other. There's only one action button per character, the trigger on the corresponding side. So you control two characters at once, and that's kind of the whole idea. Also, make sure your controller has rumble/force feedback. If not, ||the ending won't be as impactful|| (not a huge spoiler but kinda hints at one).

If you only have modern consoles (XSX/PS5), there's a remake, but at least on XSX, the original 360-era game is still available. Not sure about PS3/PSN titles on PS5, I don't have one
