The issue is they’re giving things that other characters had to newer ones why ruining older ones. Example: lifeline had a revive shield. They removed it for being broken. Come season 13 they gave a new character a revive shield and allow you to@move the player at stupid fast speeds and in quicker time too. What I’m trying to say, that by the end of WOTLK, the population started to notice bad sides of WOTLK. For instance, the DF was killing the open world, the health pools and damage was poorly synced, especially when it moved to Cataclysm. And it no longer felt like Classic in all fairness.
There were way too many QoL changes by the end of WOTLK
The classes had infinitive pools of mana, every class had some type of sustain, DK’s were absurd all the time, the game moved from Shammy stacking to DK one
Oh, and I forgot to mention how WOTLK and later on Cataclysm completely destroyed profession system with Engi+JC
OH AND I COMPLETELY FORGOT HOW WOTLK COMPLETELY KILLED DESTRO AND BM HUNTERS

Xbox gamer here... I really can't help but to agree. I got the 360 over the PS3 because my wife wanted to play online with friends who also had 360. That happened maybe twice? I ended up getting a PS3 and not only liked it more than 360, but Xbox One (PS4 generation Xbox) as well. That's saying something. Xbox Series X is not a bad console per se, and I love GamePass and Bethesda games, but I haven't actually liked Microsoft for a long time. When my gaming PC died, I was happy to replace it with a Mac, but that meant leaning more heavily into the game console for gaming. With Bethesda games only being on PC and Xbox, I don't have much of a choice. However, I do have a Series X and I do have 2 years of GamePass Ultimate, so I'm set for now. But my next console will most likely be a PS5 or the next PlayStation.
I don't think PlayStation is much better, and in some ways it's worse (PS+ isn't as good as GamePass), but I think PS5 is slightly better for gamers this generation than Xbox Series X|S is.

But I think if they break up Microsoft, they should break up Sony. Only, they can't because Sony is a Japanese company. So they can go after Microsoft, they can go after Apple, but they can't touch Sony. And one thing about Sony, they used the PlayStation to leverage disc-based markets that they were competing in. PS1 it was the VCD, support for which never (officially) came to the US. PS2 it was DVD, which I don't think had any real competition (HD-VHS maybe?) PS3, they absolutely used against HD-DVD to push Blu-ray so they could get kick-backs for every disc/player sold. PS4/5, same. But again, the US DOJ can't go after Sony. At most, I think they can ban them from being imported, but they won't go that far. (And honestly, what Sony did wasn't as bad as what Microsoft and Apple did.)
