Can you list the awards that GoW won over ER and vice versa? Also, from my reasoning, GoW could have barely edged out a win in various categories where ER got 2nd place in. Just because a game wins an award doesn’t mean it flat out dominated the competition. ER, in my honest opinion, had better raw gameplay, character customization, level design, and art style. GoW may have had a better focused narrative story, but ER had a deeper, unique lore. Also, ER set the standard for how an open world game should be, and that’s not a measurable quality that can be awarded for ER.

It does seem weird that a game can win so many awards in different categories but then fall short in winning game of the year

Also, game awards have turned into just marketing bs for the gaming corporations. Just how people have stopped caring about the legitimacy of the Grammys, Oscars, and Emmys.
