now there will be situations where you have to counterplay the enemy by playing a certain hero but you haven't unlocked them yet.
probably for OG Overwatch players, all heroes will be unlocked other than new heroes coming with OW2 but for new players if they gotta unlock every hero like its LoL or some kind of thing. The game is dead

Doesn't mean it can't have a good single player story mode as well. Main story mode for Splatoon 2 is normal and easy but OctoExpansion is just chef kiss in terms of challenge and overall quality for a single player story mode. Splatoon 3 uses the same system as OctoExpansion because of its success
Also like if you are into lore and some story, Splatoon lore and story in OctoExpansion and Splatoon 3 actually insane stuff.
