Just tried DS3 out and it's so delayed and unresponsive that it's not even funny. People say Skyrim is the closest thing to an actual DND video game, but I say it's definitely Dark Souls. Nothing hits where you try to direct it, and things only have a 50% chance to work when you try something

It's less so that they won't work, moreso that as soon as you do something, you're locked into it. Hit the attack button three times? You can't roll away until after all three attacks, even if the enemy decides to attack you halfway through

It's pretty common in games for you to be able to back out mid action, even in similar games like Shadow of the Colossus and Hellblade

I felt more like I was fighting the mechanics of the game itself than the actual enemies

you might have to learn some new mechanics

You can attack in the water, which was a major problem in XC1 & 2, you can freely switch characters of the 7 on the screen, there’s multiple classes for the characters to choose from, items seem to be simplified into 3 accessories instead of multiple slots, quest navigation is easier, etc.

Since there’s 7 people on screen too your group is also more freely able to engage enemies. Used to be there was no reason for leaving your party to “do whatever”, but since your default 6 start with 2 healers, 2 attackers, and 2 defenders it’s actually reasonable to use it as a tactic.

And because you can freely switch you can sort of force your party to do the topple combos, but I think they reasonably perform it as AI anyway.

Oh they also added a new sort of evade option that covers a pretty good distance

You can use it to quickly reposition to behind/next to a monster too

If you use KOTR on Ruby it responds with Ultima which is it's strongest attack I think but it wasn't strong enough to kill Vincent or Cloud but it also takes up Ruby's turn so I just kept using W-item with Vincent to heal both him and cloud and kept spamming KOTR

Ironically I beat Ruby to go and get the KOTR materia despite the fact I killed him using KOTR from the Ultimate Summon Materia
