I think it's a really interesting character moment for megumi because of that. He knows that he's supposed to have the potential to be as strong as Gojo and has been told that his whole life, he knows that he's supposed to be stronger than he is, and yet he has to accept he isn't. He has to steel his resolve and let his ego die as he takes himself out to kill this random f-tier character, and he hates himself for being so weak that it came to that point
