Oh hey this phenomenon was a point in an essay I wrote last year! The ‘deus ex hoodie!’ It’s happened when Koichi’s mom was there, in Osaka and the Sky Egg so far

Chapter 36 was cut from the anime, and that makes me really upset because koichi explains the mindset behind his hoodie. He feels as if he’s channeling the land, the people, and heaven (depicted with all might) when he wears it. I think it’s worth noting that every time a hoodie finds its way to him, it has a visual representation of wherever he currently is. The hoodie depicts the land/people of these other places because he is temporarily protecting them, instead of being the hero of naruhata like usual. This is kind of a lot, and nobody asked, but it’s a detail I really love

How would yall call Koichis quirk? Cause i think that slide and glide doesnt fit him

Especially with what he can do

And how his quirk works

Cause the only explanation that i could think of it is tjat his body is a biological pumpand it either rapidly condenses the air to create a hard barrier (repulsion (slide) /glide), or sucks out the air to create a powerful negative pressure (attraction)

We can see in the manga and anime 3 guys that goes around wanting to get the underwear of girls… they also have slide ans glide power isnt it? But they use it with standing on 2 feet so me I’m wondering why koichi still can’t do same too

I think that whoever gave koichi the name for his quirk really underestimate it or completely misunderstood

Which is weird since the live in a world where everyone has it

They should know a lot by now about quirks ecc

Anyway but makes me think they gave him that name for the silly character that he is

And imo they name the quirks at first simply cause childrens have very simple and basic quirk manifestation; so later when the quirks actually developes and evolves into smth ese they change the name
