"we have had alot of discussions about that already, some people are getting angry here to hear that question but ill try to give you a quick sumary of our discussion.
first of all not everyone agrees with the statement that vigs is better
secondly you should not compare vigs directly to mha since its 2 completely different series
so why is vigs "better" than mha?
in my opinion i like it more since the characters are written more mature, im not saying that they are more mature because they obviously are since they are older but the way they are written feels more real in some way and thats why i feel more attached to them i feel like.
also koichis quirk development is great, you can already see that its not only being able to glide as fast as a bicicle but also gliding on walls, being able to take hard corners, he got faster since he got protectors and also in episode 9 he was able to kinda fly?! cant imagine what happens if he Masters that technique and also, how did he even do that? some very interesting questions building up while watching/reading it.
also vigs isnt scared to show some darker parts of the mha world, first Attempted assault, killing people, cheating, and not to mention the truth of the first heroes which shows the whole concept of heroes in a different light. there are many other small differences between both vigs and mha which in my opinion really let vigs shine. the arcs are all very interesting, we got some nice background storys to characters, exciting fights, a cool MC, a very nice quirk a very nice villain and also the vibe from vigs is kinda chill if you know what i mean, while reading i screenshoted many panels because i just loved the vibe, cant post them tho because of spoiler reasons
mha is still a great show and its not objectively better or worse, its everyones own decision to rate them, i personally like vigs more"

I think the trashy part of the hero society hasn’t been shown enough in both series. Captain Celebrity is the most we could get but he’s just a hero with some flaws in the end. Some of the heroes slain by Stain might fit but we never got more of them.

I always say that Vigilantes is MHA for people who hate MHA and want more reasons to hate on MHA. I still like Vigilantes, is charming, shorter, 'grounded' at least until the last 2 arcs, have characters explaying the plot point by point leaving nothing for bad faith interpretations and as a spin off work since it explore another side of Heroism and Hero society in the same world.
I would like to say i really like Vigilantes because it had excelent stuff in it but since in most cases is use Vigilantes to trash on MHA it kinda hard to be fair with either series without falling in a certian category (me include)
Me personally i don't see what Vigilantes does better, most people goes into the "Grounded" argument or "Less characters" or starting to explain why a certian aspect of Vigilantes is better than MHA and then describe something that MHA already done.
And as i say, a lot of people only gas Vigilantes to shit on MHA, especially big members of the Anime/Manga comunitty, is always "Vigilantes is better than MHA" and not "Vigilantes is great and heres why"
Still a good series trapped by this shitty argument that wasn't change even 7 years later.

I think that what most people miss is that most MHA characters that people claim where 'wasted' are secondary or tertiary characters at best, not main or too relative to the main plot, they exist so the world feel alive

Much like Naruhata, Nal Hutta was once a more prosperous trade that has fallen on hard times with the development of new hyperspace lanes, and is also a hotbed of crime that is largely ignored by the official authorities.

Well, per World Heroes Mission, other countries also have spots where heroes are less likely to be.
I've kind of written along similar lines in my main story. In Musutafu, they tend to focus on downtown where there's more homes and businesses to get themselves attention, leaving the outer city edges more vulnerable to crime.

Now taking out Captain and Skycrawler from the equation and Aizawa becoming a teacher at UA, Musutafu that is from another prefecture, and definitely not Midnight since she also teaches at UA. Naruhata is a pretty bad place to live, especially after Ingenium is also taken out. Damn, Knuckleduster and his successor must be shouldering all the mess now…

I like to think at this earlier stage, more of the heroes we know are in the Tokyo area. Some of them like Aizawa and Midnight don't teach at U.A. yet, and only go to Musutafu when they start.

Team Idaten is near but most agency Heroes and police left Naruhata alone, wich i always find odd tbh.
Also i don't think current Narahuta has problems since [Spoilers for Vigilantes ending] ||at the end of the story Naruhata is in process of rebuild and transformation projects to make it into a better neighborhood, partly thanks to Koichi and the rest of the people of the neighborhood||

Honest to God, if it a pure quirkless fight and no tricks or drugs i think Knuckles have the upper hand just foe experience in hand to hand combat. BUT on the other hand Endeavor is taller and have more years of training compare to Knuckles, beside we even see Knuckles lose hand to hand combats in the series, i think it all come to who can strike a letal blow first

thats what im thinking aswell, yes endeavor is very tough but not because of his quirk but because of his mind. he is someone that never gives up but knuckleduster is the same, they share similar personality traits so i would say they are equal in mind and since knuckleduster has way more barehand fighting experience and works out everyday he would win imo

I don't think KD is overscaled, but if Endeavor's hand-to-hand skills are overestimated, that would put KD way higher. Like I said, the series itself showed him beating the cr*p out of a guy made out of rock/ stone, even enhanced with trigger and knocking him out anyway.
As such, it's unfair for Endeavor because he lacks hand-to-hand combat feats while for KD hand-to-hand is his strong suite and only option ever since his days as a hero. So realistically, KD would have a lot more experience and knows ins and outs of hand-to-hand much more than Endeavor.

Can someone please explain the bee lady villain to me? ||It seems quite confusing. So a bee takes over knuckle dusters daughters body which was just revealed. But where did this bee come from originally. It doesn't seem like an actually villain but more like a parasitic bee that goes in people's minds and controls them. Almost like someone else should be controlling it. I just feel like I'm missing something. Also what did the queen bee do to knuckle dusters wife? It's just went inside her and tore her insides up or something?||

Queen Bee didn’t really come from anywhere, it was an animal born with a quirk like Nezu. Given its parasitic nature, it obviously went toward villainy to survive.
As far as Mrs Oguro, don’t think it’s really explained, but pretty sure she was a previous host for Queen Bee until most of her life force was used up and she was discarded for her daughter.

Censoring spoiler stuff ||on volume 13’s cover it’s very clearly darker than Koichi’s, and on the back of volumes 6 and 11 it also looks black. The only colored depictions of him with brownish hair from the manga are the volume 11 spine cover (not easy to get digital pictures of) and on the volume 8 cover. Most fans assumed it was black despite the face thing, myself included. So with the easiest accessible images being black haired it makes sense for people to assume that. Esp since at this part in the anime his face is most likely Not based off of Koichi. || end of wall

Captain Celebrity definitely feels like the All Might of this show, in a sense that you always feel a sense of safety/faith that things will be handled when he's around.
That's why I think it'll be interesting for him to eventually face someone he'll have a proper fight with/struggle against.
