The issue is the engin addresses surface problems and not the root cause of issues. Prioritizing speed in reducing symptoms as opposed to actual solutions.
Fixing surface level problems at high speed is alright but it’s necessary to confront the issue itself. That’s what Stain is getting at the entire time. He’s a wheel in a system. Those who break free of that system to eliminate the root cause are the real heroes (as we see in MHA and later on in Vigilantes).

For sure, however, the difference between a 20 or let’s say 23 year old is of the case that they’re a mostly completely developed adult with a career and life set out. They may not have a plan (none of us really do) but this becomes an issue of two, matured, focused adults actively choosing to enter a relationship. It doesn’t matter if they’re 20 or 40. At this point in the game, as long as there isn’t a drastic power dynamic or someone is being unethical, it’s their life. Like you mentioned, different topic though.

Exactly. Whether or not you like a character is independent from whether or not they were written to be liked or hated.
You can love characters for being an all around jackass because that's the whole point - they're not supposed to be role models. And you can hate a character who's portrayed as the embodiment of good but their actions say otherwise without anyone calling them out for it in-universe.
I also like how that one episode with Makoto explores how history is often whitewashed to make the truth more glamorous than it actually is. The main series tells us "Oh yeah, the first heroes were militias who became professionals.", and then Vigilantes says "That's a load of bullshit. Most of them became labelled as villains over performative distinctions."
In retrospect, it makes the hero billboard chart even more disgusting and morally bankrupt.

it's just..well, the relationship between the pop step and the crueler(i forgot their names), i know that it's very clearly one sided but i steel feel uncomfortable how they act to each other outside of vigil work, considering she's in high school (i think)

that’s understandable, but also i don’t think it was meant inba romantic gesture. pop step blushing is seen multiple times already in the anime, and many more times in the manga; she gets flustered essily. really easily. it doesn’t help that she already idolises koichi ||after how he saved her from drowning when she was younger||(anime spoilers), and still feels embarrassed and guilty about it

I think it's even more excused because it's one-sided on Pop's. Real life school girls want to get together with pop idols and easily fall in love if the guy is handsome. At least what I think anyway lol. I'd only be uncomfortable if the older guy is making moves on her

this is totally how i see it. high school girls crushing on college guys who are too old for them is SO common. if there was any hint at all that he reciprocated the feelings it would be very yucky but he doesn’t and, spoiler warning, ||he never will, at least if they adapt the manga faithfully||. it’s completely one sided in a way that is like kinda second hand embarrassing for pop lol but otherwise i think fine

Not speaking for myself, but beside fanservice wich i don't like either, i can see some people getting unconfortable with the ||final performance|| stuff or don't like Pop in general, hell one of the main complaints of the manga is ||how they focus too much on Pop and the idol stuff after the Queen Bee arc||. But i bet the anime are gonna make those parts good when they adapt those moments
And well....the whole...||Pop doing a SA when she was drugged by Queen Bee just to traumatize Koichi|| can make some anine casuals unconfortable tbh

eh personally i lowkey loved the ||performance stuff but then again im a theatre kid lol!|| i could see how some people wouldn’t like that though… but i feel like thats more a matter of personal taste, rather than anything genuinely problematic in pop’s portrayal.
as for the ||SA thing|| like… id say thats a similar thing tbh, it just has to do with whether you’re comfortable watching media with themes like that i guess. again, i wouldnt say it was really romanticizing the situation or anything
