Unclaimed weekly challenge rewards: the latest update allows claiming rewards of challenge individually. Because of this the "Claim all" button is no longer available.
If you previously had unclaimed challenge rewards, those rewards might be "hidden" for you at the moment. They are not lost though and will be automatically claimed within the next 4 days when weekly challenges reset ๐ช
In the future these rewards will be automatically claimed whenever weekly challenges are refreshed, or when you manually claim them.

Random roles and advanced roles in role lists behavior has changed (again). This is only important if you want to deep dive into which claims are possible in certain edge cases, most players will never see this happen. Read below for all the nerdy details ๐ค
How random roles are selected and which roles you see in the roles list:
- At game start, for each random role one role is picked (from all available base roles)
- Roles are assigned to players (evaluating talismans if any). If player has a role picked from a random role, the role and the random role are assigned to that player.
- Players can choose between base and advanced role
- Role lists are updated: if player has picked an advanced role of a fixed base role, that base role is replaced by the advanced role in the list. If player has picked an advanced role for a random role (info from step 2), the random role stays in the list (no change)
- Role lists are sent to players: for each player, before sending, check if player role is in list (fixed role). If yes, send list "as is". If role is not in list (they have a random role), replace the matching random role with actual role of player before sending list
Overall the behavior is similar to what happened in the past, it fixes certain bugs though and allows for advanced roles to be selected in random roles. Thanks for reading and happy hunting! ๐ฅณ

Username length: when WOV first started usernames could have up to 20 characters. Later this changed to max 14 characters (for better readability) but players with longer usernames were allowed to keep their username.
Up until yesterday it was technically still possible to get 20 characters by using 3rd party tools. That was deemed unfair to players who didn't know how to use these tools, hence the limit of 14 was enforced for everybody. That sadly introduced a bug where old players would sometimes have usernames automatically changed ๐
If you notice your username being changed yesterday / today and are unable to get back your old long username, please contact howl@wolvesville.com to have your old longer username restored.

Hey guys ๐ we recently identified a network of players that used cheats to gain gems. These gems were then often used to send gifs to other players. We have fixed the source of the cheats and are actively removing these illegitimately gained gems. This sadly also means that gifts sent with those gems are being removed. We hope for your understanding as we are doing our best to keep the game fair for everybody.
To see if you are affected you can check the list of received / sent gifts in game. On web this list will show if a gift has been removed. The update will be available on mobile soon.

It's "internal" in the sense that it contains more details than the public version, but will also be a bit more chaotic with updates jumping back and forth between versions. Current state: we have released a final minor update, version 1.8.4 on Google Play, App Store and Huawei AppGallery. This update fixes the missing pumpkin king icon, advanced games language mixup and various other crashes. We believe this to fix the most urgent issues mentioned in #bugs-readonly ๐
Update 1.9 is almost finished and will at least include:
- Support for email validation, activated once enough players have updated
- Various wording updates, including renaming "emojis" to "emotes" among others (thanks @rustic citrus !)
- "Hero games": experimental feature where you can take a spot of a fleeing player during first phase. Grants additional XP for the "hero" that joins
- Disable vote to skip button for first 5 seconds
- Prevent pasting text into game chat to combat spam
- Ranked show own placement game stats (how far you are along)
- Ranked show info when requirements to play first ranked game have been met
- Prevent friend parties joining advanced games when not all players have met requirements
- Fix buying calendar always showing "Secret cult" (purchase works fine though, just wrong name)
- Fix "deep navigation" in some areas, such as not being forwarded to loot boxes after purchase

Web ads: are in the making and almost finished. We're just waiting for a final feedback from Google to launch.
Ranked leagues: are getting a complete rework. This will likely be activated with the start of the new season.
Ranked first night is increasing to 40s.
Ranked killed by corruptor first night counts as first night kill, so no SP changes for dying player.
Asia servers will be active soon. We'll likely wait a few more days for 1.8 to fully propagate, then force players to have at least this update and then make the switch ๐โโ๏ธ

New players who sign up with social accounts (Google, Apple, Facebook) are now being sent a "Welcome" email with a link to Discord. This email is primarily sent so that players have a reference about which email / account they used to sign up ๐ช

- Hero game, changed the way inventory works. Before, you got a new inventory (0 kills for canni). Now, you inherit the inventory from the person who fled (so 1 kill for canni if previous player did not kill somone)
- Hero game. Fixed a bug where players that got a role with no inventory could no talk, vote or see anything. Sorry about that! Servers are updating now
- Hero games. When replacing a wolf seer, fixed beeing able to check another player if the first one already did. Update is on both app and server -> Starting now, you cannot check another player but trying will bug out the player you're trying to check for a bit. App update (live on web now) will fix this
- Fixed werewolves not being able to see each-other right away after a reconnect

Updated the logic for the role challenges. First role is either from quick games or sandbox (plus role cards if you have). Second one is from advanced games, and (this bit is new) from ranked if you play ranked and then only from your league (plus role cards).
Ranked leagues have been renamed (with next update):
Standard --> silver
Advanced --> gold
... to prevent confusion with advanced game mode ๐

Reminder: if you suddenly have a "shuffled" inventory that means that:
- You recently refunded a purchase and the "stuff" you bought has been removed from your inventory. For example you buy 400 gems and spend those on an outfit. When you refund the purchase for the 400 gems, first the outfit will be removed and converted into gems, before the gems from the purchase are removed.
- You received a gift from somebody that has recently refunded a purchase. The behavior is the same above
