@buoyant wigeon hey hey, first of all I do like the idea of blue and red fire, but I also think the background is too much for the whole design. On the picture happens too much, if you understand what I mean. Maybe choose a more calm background picture to have the skin as the eyecatcher. Currently it is hard to "find" it in the picture.
Eyes:

The character has pretty big eyes and these are also placed really low. Maybe you can make them a bit smaller and also higher placed. For the colors --> this blue and red somehow seems out of place. Maybe it is just missing detail, but something does seem weird. The pupil is not centered either which makes it look like the character looks at the tip of its nose. Maybe center it a bit

Mask:

I think the mask is supposed to continue the shirt? But at the moment it looks a bit flat due to the fact, that you don't see the neck and where the head begins anymore maybe make it a bit more chill and add shadinf on these parts. I do like the flames but would probably use a darker tone for the lightest part this blue really hurts my eyes to be honest xD and the edgy part on the nose seems a bit too high? But that's personal preference ;)

Hair:

it is a good start and maybe even better than what I do as hair xD BUT it seems flat and the strains do not fit in this. Hair is normally less structured like what you did. Hair has a direction and I would suggest you to choose a point where the hair splits and make a direction around it. You can find many references for hair in #dev-vote
Also you kan make it bigger than the head itself because it looks less glued on the head like that which makes it look more relaxed. Last but not least the strains are pretty thin and small so if you want them to be visible in the game you may have to make bigger ones and less.

Hair:

The only thing on the hair I would probably change is the lines in it. Make it more like a few bigger shapes. At the moment they are nearly invisible and on PC in small I really do not see them at all. Then if it is smaller in game there won't be any of these But I like the hairstyle itself pretty much, just the shading and the right strain seems misplaced :P

Eyes:

I really like the eyes, they are beautiful but I do think the eyelashes may be a little bit too big maybe you could make them a small little bit smaller so they don't meet the eyebrows? This can make it look a bit more.. royal?

Mouth:

nice ;)

Front:

The front item is invisible. If you really want this bubble as front, make it more visible! Show that it is there! Make it a bit boom 😛 But it is a really nice idea so don't throw it away

Back:

same as front really hard to see

Shirt:

It is really beautiful and cute, I would keep it like that but fix the lines. They will be invisible in game

All in all:

Do not use lines, use shading as shapes. Lines are often invisible in game, especially if they are that thin owo

Starting with hair, the hair sections are too busy & you should settle to a 1-2 base colors to give off the clean effect rather than adding so much base colors. ++ The splits are too messy, i would recommend to look at sommm references to give you an idea on how to draw the hair shape properly && hop on #dev-vote for more ideas (they help alot)

Did Kem and SAD's special offer inspire you? 😛 Because it reminds me a lot of their offer with the lines on the chin and the tatoo between the eyes And the thing on the nose reminds me of Lighte's nose scar thingies 👀 But it is really nice with the other items. Maybe you can just make the eyes in a bertter quality? I don't mean how they are made, but the quality of the iris itself seems to be a different one than the other items 👀 if you zoom in you will see what I mea. It seems like it has gradiend and another amount of pixel 👀 You can see this especially when you compare the eyelashes with the iris.

Mouth:

Nothing special to say, it does fit xD

Front:

Maybe remove one of the layers in the fake gradient, the both are nearly the same and you won't see any difference in game but else it is really nice.

Back:

I do like it but it again remonds me of SAD and Kem's offers, this ime the zodiacs 👀 it fits in the theme tho!

Shirt:

Amazing, gorgeous and really cute. But the part on the left and right make the character itself look fat nothing against it, but it doesn't fit.... Maybe shade it different or make it darker? And the shading on the skin (body) is too dark, it is like an eyecatcher if you look at the shirt you first see the shading there.

@tawdry sequoia I do like the birdies, as you know yourself I also like the style and it is different from what others do. Especially the shadding style is new and fresh. That's probably why it is bad rated, because it is different.
Hair:

I like the female hair, even if I do not really see a use of making the tips lighter? maybe it also works without lighter tips 🤔 They seem a bit random and may lead to it look weird in the end. I like the different shading style and how it is flat and 3D at the same time What I do not understand, is the note in the hair part of the hair or the hat item? In any case I would give it a less hard look aka not poor black but maybe a lighter or redish black? It could make it less hard and stands out less which would give the character more attention. At the moment the note is like an eyecatcher
For the boy well doesn't have much yet so I wouldn't judge yet.

Eyes:

I know, I do not like big eyes normally, but maybe you can make them a small little bit bigger? I think it could look really good and the eyes are beautiful so why not show them more? You can also try a bit more with the eyebrows like turning them a bit down in the middle? but they are good like this too
For the guys eyes maybe a little bit thicker eyelashes and smol bit bigger too? I think this depends on the hair in the enddd

Hat:

The hat is cute and has a nice color but could be lighter to match more with the shirt and birb. On no part of the outfit you used such a dark green which could seem random in the end 🤔 If you search for ideas to the hat, maybe some feathers? or also notes?

Background:

Is really nice, I love the colors and everything keep it like this and maybe add some of the lines on the right on the left too? At the moment it is odd and heavier on the right while it is kinda empty on the left 🤔

birb:

cutie! I love it's face a lot owo for the boy you maybe give the bird another position? maybe like it bows down a bit to the character? like... one wing on its chest and the other open, like he has one wing on its heard you know?

Shirt:

I think it is totally fine when the shirt is more "boring" and empty, since there is a lot happening in the front and back already, but if you want to change something, maybe add some pattern? If you check out noon and my pupcorn you can check the guys shirt and know what I mea, maybe just with the feet of a bird?

You have a shape selected, right?

Select tge first tool in the tool selection, it's the tool to move stuff around and select it etc.
When you click on a shape you made, you select it. Then you see arrows. With this arrows you can make it bigger, but it looses its shape. If you use them while holding shift it stays the same but gets bigger.
If you click on it again you will see, that the arrows change a bit. If you use these arrows, you can rotate the shape.

For the male mouth I would suggest to lower it because currently it is too high and looks weird. Else I think it is fine maybe make the blood darker?

Hair:

The shading on the sides (lighter orange part) should flow a little bit more to the top, there's a yellow line at the hairline that I'm not sure what it is.

Eyes:

Eyebrows are missing and the pupils are a bit wonky, perhaps draw a more defined iris and put flames in it a bit translucent over the pupils (if you are to keep the current pupil shape).

Shirt:

I don't know what this is. It looks a pretty random ngl.

Background:

I think it's meant to look like a crevice/portal thingy ? It's very angular at the edges and messy, the way the spikes are displayed don't look like cracks though.

Overall:

Very spiky and a bit, maybe tone it down with the straight lines and add some curves here and there on the breach and search up more references for it?
