@elfin marsh firstly, I used the most thinnest pen to draw the first sketch (body, hair, head and etc). After I start to add designs (hair, shadows, accessories, suit and etc). After I started to dye the suit and hair. Aaaand, I draw the face lastly. So, you know, others is easy. Take the bucket (filler type colouring) and colour this. I don't have video of this. And I don't work on white background too much. I prefer less eye strain background like this, bcuz its less brighter. Bcuz I work on the avatar during the nights too (I only had time during the night). Btw, I said it before, I worked on this avatar for 6 months. Bcuz I'm beginner about avatar making, idk this thing very well like all of you, so, pls don't judge me like that 7n7

Yes doing it on procreate is perfectly fine (i also use procreate). First id recommend picking saving one of the avatar bases, i usually just pick the one i use in game the most (skin color basically). Once you do that you can start designing whatever you want. If you have any questions about the design process feel free to share your progress and ask questions here.
In particular id recommend starting with a sketch of some sort first. Just remember that softbrushes (airbrush, paint brushes, etc) aren’t allowed and you cant outline the items either

Its sort of like drawing an outfit for a character. Id suggest keeping each item on a different layer (or in a layer group). I like to start by drawing eyes but thats just because theyre my favorite item to draw

Usually its easier to start with face + shirt + hair. Then moving to background / foreground item after.

Would suggest cleaning up the lines, many lines are “messy” in terms of not being straight, looking bumpy, etc. Make sure all pixels are filled with colours - item above head misses few spots and has airbrush on one as well
Lines part goes for background, hair, face, shirt.
Hair - you can remove single strands of hair & maybe make the darker shading thinner

Overall it’s a great idea, but needs a lot of work with lines. Could you try using stabilisation tool of some sort? try adjusting your pen settings until you find what works the best for you

Hoi i use ibis cuz I find its symmetrical ruler and paint brushes vvvv efficient when it comes to designing but idk about other apps, abt the size-it really depends, for me I use 3360x2240 to have space for bg- but if u dont make bg thats oke can use a smaller size

Yeah and you could also add a little more to the sides around the ears. I also dont really know how horns work tbh 💀💀. But usually what i do is i consider then the hat item so this means drawing them over the hair separately without worrying about drawing the hair around them. Though in terms of placement, you might want to try maybe moving them a bit further apart and lower on the head.

Id recommend making the hair clips thicker. They are close enough to the hair color that the kinda fade away being so small. But for the most part it looks rly good!

so, to submit an avatar for #design-vote you need to DM a mmod+ that accept those submissions (they usually all do except if it's especially stated they don't in their bio), you can recognise them from the orange/red colour

you need to send your design + name of the design + the designer/s discord id (in case it's not just you) + any reference photo you used
