I feel like there needs to be a bit more chest 3d, like lines to indicate the roundness etc, maybe define the arms and collarbone, move eyes down, maybe star pupil up and fill it in, add some lose hair strings on the outer hair too, some shadow on the lower lip and some highlights, and maybe add some more colours except for cyan/aqua, since it might pop more them love the hair so far tho you rlly did a nice job on this so far

Oh and the hair string on the front, wavey hair sometimes curls, so add some dimension to it

Again im not a pro, and still learning, so these are just suggestions and ideas on how id do it

I wanted to ask you a question about the process of creating skins. My gf and I have been experimenting with designing skins using an iPad, and we've tried various apps like Procreate (though it doesn’t support vectors), Adobe Fresco (but it seems to create too many unnecessary paths and nodes), and Ibis Paint (where we can’t get high-quality vectors; it all looks rasterized).

Is it acceptable to submit a skin in raster format, or with automatic vectorization, or does it absolutely need to go through further refinement in software like Illustrator, Affinity, or Inkscape on a PC for the final submission?

Hey, I am fine hbu? xD You can always submit designs as normal pixel format. Most designers actually do that and its better than having a vector directly because you just have to draw for the time being instead of trying to understand a software and not being able to draw properly.
If the design goes in game you will have to redraw it in a vector format but I would say if u feel comfortable drawing in procreate, go for it and worry about the vector later when the time comes :3

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it! So, if we want to seriously focus on making skins that could go into the game, can we submit them as rasterized designs for now? Or do we need to wait until we've trained up our vectorization skills to be able to do it? We’d really love to create high-quality skins and hopefully have them be considered for release voting!

Raster should be enough. As I say if they then get chosen to go into the game, then u will have to do it in vector. Most do it by asking someone to "trace" their skin or do it themselves

First off, I really love the design! Your shading techniques add a unique and personal touch. It’s really up to you if you want to keep it that way since it comes down to personal preference. The only thing I could say, is that the stripes make it look a bit flat.

Because right now from the small player square in a game the lines are too small to be visible as the colours blend, everything else is looking great tho, except maybe a few darker shadows on the bow around the contours? or just darken the shading colour a little bit. Old suggestion but recolouring has multiple issues

Each item and skin colour has to be added as Single Version so basically 8 items to have al skin Tones. Not to forget when new get added a new has to be added aswell. Plus it will be used as an example case where ppl then want to do the same and ur inventory is crowded with a huge amount of Single items just for one skin ^^"

Recoloring is not possible as in game the items are added as a file u can not recolor. If you try to recolor this specific item, the whole item will get t+e picked color which is not changable and all u have left is (example green) a big green blob

Couple problems is, firstlly the obvious parts are that most of these things are just simply copy pasted from the internet (correct me if i am wrong), since they have airbrushing of shadows, total different stule from hair etc etc, remember copy right, secondly is all the airbrushing in general like eyes, mouth yadayadayada, this would be fine for a reference but not as an actual submission

Yes, I know. In terms of "copy" the only thing that is from the internet are the backgrounds with sheets, which I took because I couldn't draw this part. And about everything else, errors, problem with sketch (which I didn't do) and the airbrush... The apps for this type of work are paid I did in the app I had on my phone, I'm not a designer, I've never done that. I just wanted to bring a beautiful and cool idea, which I imagined was a great skin.

I circled the problems, you cannot use these flowers because they are airbrushed, outlines need to go or be reduced, and female ear needs to be fixed cause it has a skintone specific part.
