Imo checking for a villager first night is better as there are only four werewolves in game, 25% you find one, and there is a chance you find a solo.
After some of the villagers being confirmed first day, you could check for wolves second and third day, then solo for 4th day, and for 5th day a villager again to confirm someone

Or switch 4th and 5th day checks
