#Having to ready up after finding a match is frustrating.

My buddy and I have missed multiple ready-ups when trying to find a match because one of us wasn't able to get back to our computer in time.

Sometimes it takes a little bit to find a game, so we like to go do some other tasks while we wait for a game, fold laundry, put away dishes, other tasks around the house and what not. It was rather nice, cause once I heard the countdown I'd get back to my computer with plenty of time to still drop.

But now I gotta rush back to my computer at the drop of a hat to click ready up within that 12 second window or else we have to start the entire search over again. And of course we still gotta wait another 20+ seconds before we drop. Maybe it's to encourage players to explore the hub? But It feels kind of punishing for players just wanting to do other things while waiting to play the core game.

Like we already clicked ready up in the main menu, then clicked search in the social hub, is that not enough? I'm already searching for a match, clearly I want to play a match, why the extra confirmation?

Can we not just click ready-up right when we start searching instead?

I don't know, I feel like match making mechanic is unnecessary in the way it's been implemented.

This is an issue that I hope is addressed. Some of my friends, scared of missing the cue, wait for the ready up and then go grab a drink. It’s a problem that we don’t see this as waiting and more like a quick time event that can happen at any moment.

I would say a temporary fix is to have people animals ready up before it starts searching.

I would personally suggest the ready up appears and stays as you are searching. If you ready up during this time, you are sent to victory island to wait with everyone else. This would bring back that pre-game lobby I miss already. This would be harder to implement though, but I can dream.

Players shouldn't be nervous that they are going to miss the cue and then be punished for it. It's a little ridiculous.

This feedback really resonates. I've found the latest update introduces a lot of frustration for me and my friends when queuing up for a game. In effect, this update creates a "double lobby" where we are in a lobby and wait multiple minutes to join a game of which we only have ~10 seconds to accept. Upon accepting, we're waiting in another lobby. I'm not really sure what benefit that they found in this but it's particularly frustrating and it would be better to just dive right into the lobby for the desired game type.

I say this as someone with over 2,200 hours of gameplay in SAR. I've already found myself playing less after the update due to the added friction and frusteration of getting into a game.

While I do agree that the having to ready up for an additional time is a mild inconvenience I think it might have a secondary and valuable purpose... I used to recieve an absurd amount of "message invite links" to places on the internet I dont really care for and it usually happens after a few matches of Super Animal Royale... player bots... not game programmed bots but players that are not really playing the game would load up matches just to get a large amount of "previously played players" list built up so they could send bulk batch "invites" to people and like scam them for their account information or whatever... so TLDR the second ready up cuts down on scammy turdmuffins ruinin yer funfox_surprised 🤘

i preferred the old queue system that sent you into the match lobby, it felt faster, i agree that if you are looking for a match you shouldnt need to ready a 3rd time and if for some reason you happen to afk when the matchmaking finally finds you, the only one playing at a disadventage from it is you so really no point in multiple confirmations

i think this is the way to go for solving the issue. once you start matchmaking, allow players to hit Q to be ready the moment a match is found there

Yeah, I miss the ready button on the main menu. It was set and forget until a match opening queued.
