#The Emotes are overpriced as Hell

I'm a Super Animal Royale player, but I almost always play Fortnite for a few reasons, and one of them is the Super Animal Royale emotes. Emotes almost always cost 700 or sometimes even 800 or more, and I don't like it because not many people can afford to spend a lot of SAW tickets on an emote that's useless in matches. Also, some emotes are toxic, which I really don't like. In Fortnite, emotes usually cost 200, 400, or even 500 V-Bucks, and you can get V-Bucks for free in the Fortnite Battle Passes. Meanwhile, in Super Animal Royale (I don't know if you can get free rewards), you have to spend real money, and you can't choose the number of SAW tickets you want, and not many people can afford to spend real money on SAW tickets. My question to the developers is if they could lower the price of emotes to 500 or even less SAW tickets.

at least about 100 or 200 tickets shiba_ded

this is true but for now theres no real option for the devs to reduce prices as far as ik

I’d say 500 is reasonable for a epic emote and 400 for a rare
Also yea you earn 350 SAW tickets every time you complete a pass, making the pass technically only 400

#

The real thing to cry about is the cost for a small pet

They cost 600 for blues and 800 for purples

#

But both pets and emotes are so overpriced

Worse than Tesco 🥀

You can get SAW tickets from passes when they are active

hopefully the new passes that may be coming will make buying passes more lucrative

#

because buying archived ones is not worth it if you're justifying it with the included tickets

there are quite a few free emotes, and i think the paid ones are not really overpriced (maybe compared to fortnite but fortnite is large enough that they can afford to sell things cheap and still stay afloat)

i would say anything above $10 USD for an emote is overpriced and they haven't broken that yet (unless you include the emotes that come with merch but that's a stretch)

i also don't play other games with emotes so my opinion might be rare, but just keep in mind the game is free-to-play, yet the devs all have salaries and they also have to pay for servers to run the game on. paying for things like emotes is one of the many ways to support the devs and if they made everything dirt cheap then they probably wouldn't be able to keep the game open financially

#

i think it would be fine for them to add cheaper emotes though, but i would rather have more straight-up free ones than cheaper ones, there isn't much reason for a middle-ground in my opinion

As mentioned, there are a good fair number of free emotes that are obtained via playing the game or Carl's Cart.

Additionally, there are a bunch of 'reasonable' emotes that are bundled with things like Season Passes. In truth, the emote tends to be the highlight of the Pass.

There are a number of SAW Ticket purchasable emotes.

I have not purchased a single one of them, and 'this' has not impacted my gameplay experience.

The one paid for emote that would benefit a freely obtainable equivalent is the 'sit in peace' emote. Other than that, it's pretty much fair game.

Also, in a world where all the prices are going up, I don't actually think that it is reasonable to ask for price cuts. The emotes and cosmetics are all waiting for you.

'Also' the value of these emotes are actually going up in a few days thanks to the new SAW social hub. ^_^

I hate that monkey dance (My fav emote) Is worth 800 saw tickets when it's impossible for me to buy them

My stance is that cosmetics like these are optional, and as much as I would want something, I understand that I can't have it if I can't afford to buy it. As much as it sucks and as much as I wanted it, in the end I'm losing out on nothing.

Instead of repricing everything, Pixile could implement a single SAW Shop (and maybe Carl's Cart) segment as being reduced in price? You have one chance every rotation for a single item to be reduced - so players can buy a cheaper item if they want or wait patiently if their choice becomes that.

-# I know bundles exist, but as someone who regularly buys things with SAW Tickets, I'm not really buying them unless it's an item I really want - the box set - or a weapon bundle - the toxic set.

If people think emotes are overpriced, that would actually mean less income for the devs, since no one would bother buying them dogna_notes

#

Would an indie game rather have 4 people buying a $10 emote ($40 total), or 6 people buying a $8 emote ($48 total)?

#

I don't believe an indie game should make everything expensive, since that discourages users from buying.

This may seem like the simple answer but that's not really how it'd work out, because if it did, most goods would just be really cheap because people would be buying more (in theory)

To answer some of these other points in the thread though:

  • Feedback has been noted! Good talking points all the way around
  • Comparing an indie game like SAR to a AAA game or studio with a budget we can only dream is a bit challenging unless you keep in mind the different scales and conditions we operate in
  • Animal Passes are intentionally made to be the best value for your dollar, they're timeless and cheaper than alternatives (which are not timeless)

They know better

The way i see it is that you can't really complain about microtransactions if the game is free

That's true

I don't believe that prices for items should be that cheap. It was just an example. My bad for making a horrible example xD

#

I also don't believe that the shop items are too expensive.
-# which is why I haven't upvoted myself.
I think the title of this forum may have exaggerated a bit, lol.

#

I just know there are many who think the prices are a little too high, so I thought it might have needed some addressing. My feedback isn't really my own opinion, it's more based on the complaints I've seen from others.

Whether the shop prices receives changes or not, I can learn from discussions like this. TBhug_itspoyopoyo

For me, I just buy what I want. I don't feel like I have to buy every item I see. I care more about the "quality" of items (aka guns with special sounds or very cool looking outfits). I can see why the prices are that way, since people like me who usually stick with one or a few loadouts/mini pets they mainly use. But I still try to support the devs whenever I can.

Though, I know some are collectors and love to dress up, probably feel the urge to spend more than they need to dog_thisisfine .

#

But Logan already clarified why the prices are that way, so I can't complain. 👍

I better fix my example
