#Mystery boxes in game

Lootbox no thx
If it was Carl coins then…maybe since everyone probably has at least 500K Carl coins at this point…but even then…yaaaa gambling
No thanks
Loot boxes
No thanks
Yeah I could see people not wanting to take this risk
no need to increase age rating for SAR with lootbox gambling, especially when devs want the cosmetics be accessible as possible via shops in rotation, level up pools, animal passes and/or milestones
that's a no from me
Would just be for Netherlands and Belgium I think but ye still agree
You’re right, this was just an idea
No, gambling.
Even if it was just for carl's coins I wouldn't want this.
This feature is in many other games, not because it is good, but because developers are greedy.
Can I have a sar gotcha mechanic along with this?
I wanna pull that 5 star dogna
Im good. I dont think sar needs this but I agree another store style option to get rare items would be neat.
I do think the current clothing prices are a bit steep but
like at least for emotes you can use them with any character, but with clothing, you gotta ask yourself whether you're going to use it on your favourite loadout
I think that in general pricing is steep on all shop items.
I think a shift to premier pricing might be a better idea.  After an item has been in circulation for a year or two it should go down in price because it's no longer the latest and greatest thing.
Rotational discounts may also grab more impulse buys, especially if they are seasonal specials.
like i dont think a digital png is worth 8 bucks but i might consider it for a buck or two
Hmm, this sounds like a worse implementation of the old reroll for higher item quality .. on top of causing gambling issues (even tho I do find gambling funny).
Will pass for now. I think.
What if it cost 75,000 carls car coins for 1 mystery box
With a 2% chance of getting something from the saw ticket shop
Maybe 100,000 carls cart coins
Maybe like this:
75% chance for a carls cart cosmetic (not currently in shop)
15% chance for a streamer item
8% chance for an event item
2% chance for something from the saw shop
Of course though, this is just an example
Still gambling
Not with actual money though
It would count as gambling in some places, raising the age rating to 18+
Yep.
I will pass on a loot box thank you
bububut gambling is worth it
Wait, its not gambling. Its buying a priduct you dont know
Its not gambling if you are going to get something either way
Its in other games too
Besides: looking at the definition of gambling, its not gambling if its left to a complete rng with no strategy behind it
It's a lootbox which makes it 18+ in the Netherlands and Belgium p sure
Also what do you mean "its not gambling if its left to a complete rng with no strategy behind it" what does that make roulette or slot machines then?
Guys I wrote this a while ago… T-T
You choose if you want red or black
which is RNG which it lands on
Then why isnt twitch banned
(or well, randomness)
?
Do you need to spend currency?
No
I do know that channel point predictions are disabled in some countries bc gambling
That wouldn't fall under it then because you don't need to spend anything
You dont need to spend curreny on carl coins either
carl coins are the currency you'd be spending
Its not a microtransaction
it still counts as a currency you obtained that you're wagering
in certain countries
even if you didn't have to spend irl money to get it
Agreed, just let the suggestion get buried
Bro
War thunder has so much gambling and apparently thats not even 16s
And in case you dont know, war thunder has crates where you have to spend actual money on
Besides, even in my old school's Halloween fair theres a raffle, i guess they were breaking the law every year for 40 years or smtn
And literal 7 year olds buy tickets
With their own money
Yeah that's a thing that happens in a lot of places
But it's the kinda thing where it's quite different to a point that there's a decent possibility that's covered by different laws
i'd say depending on a country (Belgium and Netherlands mainly), whether SAR gets increased age rating or not, there are countries that would outlaw the idea of lootboxes and mystery boxes
making cosmetics behind a mystery box would certainly limit people from those countries to miss those out
which goes against Pixile's anti-FOMO ideology
a school's event is not globally visible the way a huge multiplayer game on steam is
and yes... sar is considered big in comparison to 95% of steam games
I love it
we already have enough gambling in rebel cache and mole crate
I meant the design
Not the concept
It'd fit Xmas
Maybe mole crate can be an Xmas gift box?
Yeah, gambeling that doesn't involve spending credits is fine.  Good for adding randomness to game.  Gambling spending tickets or even Carl Coin is not.
gamblin=yes
No gambling please.
pwease
Fine. No gambling pwease.
yAY :3
pretty sure loot boxes are banned in many countries...
adding a feature that would then be excluded for some players doesn't seem fair
also I don't like the idea of introducing loot boxes to a game that's aimed at an audience that's 13+
Ye
Either: The cosmetics have to be earnt another way for those places (then why bother with the lootboxes)
Or: People in those countries can't get the cosmetics (really bad and would not be liked)
oh but fifa gets away with it JUST fine due to some sizeable generous """""dontations"""""
lol

"Citizens for Innovative Markets in Gaming"
i like this idea
I think not; If you’re going to do boxes, keep em in Carl Coins/progression
and not SAW tickets since it’s basically gambling with real money
ye
I prefer the random drop like we have now.  No boxes.
However, making the random drop list include some of the carl's cart items wouldn't be bad.
I remember Crowbcat's video about this where he shows the gambling aspect of Counter Strike. Not a fan of this suggestion, sorry, winning items by random chance ain't it!
This is such a bad idea, I don't think gambling is something that should not even be considered in SAR.
but i love gambling
unfortunately it's a sensitive thing
