as for comp, once the SAW update is done, we could experiment with a ranked solo first.
😭 the fact ruki is hosting more comp than the game on itself is wild
like
juste a beta system
Umbra*
with full bugs
yh i meant the ranked
ah, i see
but umbra is litteraly the person making comp living
bless you umbra 🙏 💛
and? you can still play
unless you have issue with the hour the games are hosted
thats the problem
This game is like... graphic for casual players but gameplay for comp players lol
oh... 💔
Ranked isn’t going to add any new players
bro
yeah it's odd. some people stay here cuz haha silly furry game, others because the gameplay is really good. me and my original group of friends got into the game because it wasn't resource intensive and the matches started quick and you were able to fight instead of dying instantly. we loved it cuz of the gameplay.
chiitan aint either
just ranked would keep comp AND casuals
as getting clapped by jag pros aint funny
¯_(ツ)_/¯
but ig we prefer a ded game
There’s not enough players for a ranked mode, that will just make all the modes dead because not enough playing normal royale
😭
bro
16 players ranked
on saw vs revellion map
¯_(ツ)_/¯
there are some solutions
but the community doesnt care
that moment when umbra's events had more than 64 people sign up

look 2 suggest for the feedback
Just add bunch of cosmestic rewards in ranked mode so a bunch of players gonna grind for them
while there are 40 for cosmetics
are we being fr
people likes more desing than the gale
64 people is barely any, Chiitan would make millions of new players
game
DUDE
PLEASE
ur not him
you can stop trolling
idk if u realize what ur saying
U don’t know how popular Chiitan is
Bro
ook i give up
okay let's entertain your idea
Because clearly it would be more than 64 people
see ya in 2 hours
let's say chiitan gets added, only AS would see any change
when it will be more chill
what about NA? what about EU? nothing for them
yoopi na will play on 200 pings
eu on 300
but k
Chiitan won't do anything globally
(it wont do nothing )
Chiitan is popular globally
SAR had tons of people in the past, plenty of both casual and comp players that have left the game as they have done everything in the game
💀
more content and ways to keep them hooked is key
twentyfox is the biggest example
Chiitan would introduce a new audience that wants to play as a cute otter or people that like mascots and also twitter, tiktok and instagram users, and it can be free. And they have a lot to discover about the game because they wouldn’t have played it before
yeah i'm done
If you want to add chiitan into this game then do it yourself, persuade the devs to add that skin in this game instead of non-stop yapping about it in here
Sorry I lost my temper 💔
Breaking Bad reference, Jesse last words to Walter

truest statement about the truest statement ever said
Side-note: SvR is the last mode I'd consider as being ranked-appropriate. Closest one can do is try for a pre-formed 'company' v 'company' - where it would make sense for companies to have rankings - and figure out a NFL-style coverage of player stats (gonna set my biases aside for a moment).
Meaning up to 24 players per side - with (yes, I know how unlikely and unwieldy that is). I wonder if 12v12 (with 6 reserves per side) would be doable as a format.
For SvR to be ranked-appropriate, teams need to be smaller, and contribution calculators need updating (flag defence is not a measured metric!)
Even Bwoking would be more suitable as a ranked mode
Although it is the one that benefits from it the least
Since having skilled players doesn't necessarily mean skilled opponents
I stopped typing because I realized you were talking about day to day ranking of players in SvR.
Main issue is that each player is dependent on 23 other players to carry their weight. In squads - at least that's down to three. Yes, I can see Bwoking being even more chaotic than even SvR.
(and RNG doesn't help its case)
No, it applies to any ranking
The basic idea of rank-based matchmaking is that you're supposed to have a higher rank for skillful playing, yes?
But it's presently quite difficult to gauge skill in SvR. You can't just count kills, it is possible for a faction to win despite having more casualties
The purpose of matchmaking is to ensure relatively even matches while ranks, or elo ratings, are supposed to give an idea of abstractly how one player's performance will generally be expected to be - and this theoretically can be used to ensure even matches.
SvR and Ranked don't go together
uuh didnt mean ththis
i leant
solo ranked
but on svr maps
ai?
that wasnt even really a new suggestion its been discussed a lot in this thread alone
Improved AI doesn't hurt for a number of these, true.
Also - solo-ranked on SvR still doesn't change the fact that each player is a hostage to the other 23 players on the team.
i think what tehy were saying is they were not ever considering ranked in svr
That ranked would only be reserved for battle royale
Oh in that case I am more inclined to agree.
Comp can exist - but on a macro-team vs macro-team basis - similar to team sports.
i mean this has gone off topic a solid 3 times already so I'm not surprised
99% of that was that random guy frothing at the mouth for a japanese internet personality to collab with sar
There have been many ideas brang by everyone to bring players to the game and keep them active
things that you shouldn't ask a sar player:
"how to bring people to this game"
Expanding on the story (or stories) that take(s) place in the context of the in-game universe, would probably appeal to a fair number of persons.
The comics of TF2 didn't hurt its popularity.
Although in SAW's case, probably smaller story arcs centering on sub-plots or particular characters - and dropping little bits of in-game lore along the way.
sorry for not reading 600 messages before talking
this chat cant be that long😭
more (now +1)
And for 10 chekmarks
well..
yeah i don't think people really bother checkmarking discussion posts anymore
true
this is more of a discussion sooo
there's not really anything to checkmark lmao
The discussion is a lot more important than the votes generally
true
Knowing why people think they do is definitely more important than a blanket yes/no
Because sometimes people explain why they think something it turns out the underlying issue is something different than what they were trying to say but didn't realize it so the best solution is something outside of the box
This is another tangent on the players question. Just a thought that occurred to me:
For Oceania players - perhaps peer-hosted matches?
How this would work is that players would select 'OR' (Other Region) - which would open up the possibility of serving as a host for matches - or joining the peer-hosted instance of another player.
Ideally this would involve prioritizing players with a high overall ping to all existing servers.
This would likely need to be processed differently:
- Client side authentication of in-game events
- Bot behaviour processing would likely be distributed among players.
- Ability to switch host if an eligible other host exists.
.
yes anything to have good ping
I just popped into this forum afar a while. For me, yeah the game is losing players and everything is hinged on a big update. I can see where the devs are going with a casual mode as well. The BR game loop has also grown stale on me, and I've done everything there is to do bar getting more animals, so I've stopped actively playing for now.
However i am interested as to a post-SAW future, and what is to happen to the current modes. Will the new player experience be improved? Will there be more interesting things that break the BR loop?
I've talked about this before- p2p is very different tech and a whole other host of problems (anyone who's played warframe and seen "host migration in progress" will know exactly what i mean) and idk if you want to host an entire match on someone's NBN25 wifi (25mbps down 4mbps up) on FTTN (fibre to the node- some people still have copper connection to their house)
Which can be hilariously laggy
Because while server infrastructure is optimised to be as smooth as possible, your network at home probably isn't, since your computer is the one hosting and then the first hop is wireless occasionally
And can you imagine a Nintendo switch hosting a 64 player Royale game
